One of the worth to see places around Uchisar is the Black Castle. From the castle, which was in very good condition until 1945, only the rubble that formed the core of the walls remained today due to the villagers’ use of stones.
In the western part of the castle, which is reinforced with towers, the stones of many graves with cross marks were eroded. The south wall, on the other hand, has survived to the present day as the strongest part of the castle. The pottery uncovered from the surface dates back to the Late-Byzantine period. The hat of this building, which is known as Karakale among the local people is a different volcanic formation that is not very common in the region.
